ORIENTATION: Hobart is in southern Tasmania. It is the capital of Tasmania with over 200,000 people. It is an excellent place to base yourself for touring the south and centre of Tasmania. Hobart has a very wide selection of accommodation styles.
Note that access between the SOUTHERN SUBURBS of Hobart and the NORTHERN SUBURBS of Hobart has to flow through the Hobart CBD. Note too that only three bridges connect the EASTERN SHOREof Greater Hobart (Commonly called BELLERIVE) with the rest of Greater Hobart.
Accommodation in RICHMOND to the north of Greater Hobart and in SORELL to the east of Greater Hobart are other possible options.
